Patient Advocacy

8Do you or a loved-one have a cancer diagnosis?  Is the diagnosis overwhelming?  Are you feeling inundated with information and questions?  Perhaps it seems like there are questions you don’t even know to ask? Cancer is as unique as each person it afflicts. Therefore, the treatment regiment must be carefully considered and customized for each patient.  With the demands in today’s healthcare practices, doctors simply do not have enough time to extensively research each patient’s individual and unique disease condition and explore its context within the patient’s greater sense of existence.  I will work with you or your loved one to navigate a cancer diagnosis, synthesize information, and identify options.  Patients deserve to be represented in the doctor’s office and beyond.  I clarify options for hospitals, doctors, clinical trials that are on-going, diagnostic tests and procedures or treatment choices.  I gather information and ask specific questions based on my expertise in the field of cancer research.  Additionally, I write down information that you receive from your caregivers, as well as any questions that you may have.

Every patient deserves an advocate.
